KEL-30 Exhibition space in De Biotoop
In De Biotoop—the largest incubator in the Netherlands with 100 companies, 150 artists, and 180 residents—Stichting Turmali has realized an exhibition space of approximately 800 m². This large basement space offers opportunities for large-scale presentations, work periods, residencies, and public programs.
The foundation's objectives align with what this location makes possible—in terms of content, practical aspects, and organization. Therefore, Stichting Turmali is committed to further building and developing this stage.
We organize exhibitions and presentations centering on contemporary visual art, often with space for new work, experimentation, and research. We work with makers from the Netherlands and abroad, and actively seek exchange and international collaboration.

Workshops and educational projects
We develop and implement educational projects in the field of art and culture. Examples include workshops for schools, programs for youth and talent development, and tracks in which art is used to learn to look, explore, and imagine.
Collaborations with schools, companies, and institutes
One of the objectives of the Turmali Foundation is partnerships between artists and companies, schools, associations, and other institutions. We believe that art can open new perspectives within diverse contexts, ranging from technology and sustainability to community and well-being.
Culture, diversity & international exchange
At Stichting Turmali, we view European connection and cooperation as an essential component of a healthy and vibrant arts climate. Meeting artists from other countries and working from different perspectives enriches the artistic process and expands the space for reflection, innovation, and exchange. It offers artists from the North and the Netherlands the opportunity to present their work across borders. At the same time, we aim to be a source of inspiration for those who work and stay here, and we are actively building a sustainable network of European art platforms.
Science and research
The Turmali Foundation is located in a former university building, next to the Hortus, a context that invites in-depth exploration and research. From this location, we are explicitly committed to collaboration with science and research. Art can raise questions that remain unanswered elsewhere and offers space to make complex themes such as ecology, material, technology, and society visible and open for discussion in a different way.
